WOMEN COMMITTEE

The activities of LDF Women Committee refer to Christian social thinking. Relations between employers and employees should also refer to Christian social thinking.  The prosperous work of enterprise depends on the relations and intercommunion in the enterprise. It is very important to respect the employee as a person, to give him a possibility to participate in the common activities and to get fair pay for his work.

Priorities:

1. Equal opportunities for everybody. It is important to ensure equal opportunities for women and men in the labour market and to eliminate the stereotypes.

a) to combine professional and family life;

b) to promote balanced representation;

c) to train and educate the society about equal opportunities;

d) to increase tolerance and understanding scattering stereotypes about elderly and young  women, social risk groups that experience discrimination in the labour market. 

2. Education.

a) to increase the qualification of women;

b) to increase qualification of women who lost working skills during maternity leave;

c) to ensure the elderly women participation in the labour market providing training and employment schemes;

d) to encourage women activities by participating in trade union activities;

e) to increase the qualification of the women leaders in the trade unions.

3. Health and safety at work

a) women discrimination in the working places;

b) stress and the risk related to the work.

4. Cooperation with other women organizations from Lithuania and foreign countries.
